RESET BUTTON: GETTING BACK TO YOUR FITNESS GOALS
The summer is coming to a close, the third quarter is coming to an end. Like many individuals life has thrown you off the path of your fitness goals. Maybe it was all the fun summer travel. Perhaps it’s the stressful job, or even issues with family that has caused you to derail.
Here are some tips with getting back on track toward your fitness goals.
BE FUELED BY YOUR ‘WHY’
Why do you workout? Why have you set the goals you seek to accomplish? How important is this accomplishment to you? Whatever the answers are they must be of substance to fuel you to getting back on track.
You must visualize your goal being completed daily. That is what will keep you going when you want to quit. That is the FUEL to push you forward when the task seems impossible.
Sure you’re in a slump, but the only way to get out of that slump is simple: Get off your ass, stop feeling sorry for yourself, and encourage yourself to be self accountable to a higher standard. It’s not easy
to look in the mirror and tell yourself, “You’re going today. You’re not going to happy hour. You’re not going home to watch Netflix. You’re not that tired. YOU ARE GOING!”. Pity will get you nowhere. Just get back up and get on it.
PLAN AND EXECUTE
If you’re getting back on the road to redemption, keep it simple. Set small goals, conquer them and set bigger goals and go crush those too. Your goal is about you and you alone. Commit to X number of workouts. Set a goal to rest and recover. Set a goal to eat 3 quality meals. Once your goals start to feel like a normal part of your life then it’s time to grow them.
