Tasty Nutritious Smoothies & Shakes On The Go

Many of my athletes ask what should they take pre/post workout in terms of nutrition.  In a perfect world good ole fashion food is the best option but sometimes time gets the best of us.

The next solution: Protein Smoothies/Shakes.

My rule of thumb: If it doesn’t taste good, you probably aren’t going to eat it.

Make it tasty!


Here are a few recipes to give you quick fast nutrition


1c fresh orange juice

1 scoop vanilla whey protein powder (24g-30g+)

2c ice

Blend until smooth or shake in a protein shaker


“Peanut Butter Cup”

1.5 c unsweetened almond milk

1 scoop chocolate whey protein powder (or use vanilla and add cocoa powder)

2 tbsp peanut butter

2c ice

Blend until smooth


“Frozen Berry Limeade”

1c water

1 scoop vanilla whey

1c frozen mixed berries

1 scoop Modern Raspberry Lemonade BCAA’s

1c ice

Blend until smooth

“Smooth Operator”*

1c water

1/4c real coconut milk

1 scoop chocolate whey

1/2 avocado

1 banana

2c ice

Blend until smooth, enjoy with a spoon
